Our Production team is getting ready to see double as we prepare to install another 40” high-performance press in our Winston Salem location.  We’re eager to spread the word about this next phase of expansion for Salem Printing.  A new Komori six-color Lithrone GL40 with hybrid UV capability is being installed and will be operational by the first of the year.  This is particularly exciting, as this extraordinary new press combines cutting-edge automation, with revolutionary technology and increased capability with UV to boot.
Salem has always been committed to making investments in new technologies that deliver on the demands of our clients while being able to bring efficiencies to the table in every segment of our business. This latest addition will allow us to drive pressroom efficiency ratios even higher while continuing to fulfill higher end print requests from those clients who have very specific needs.

The Lithrone GL40 press delivers stable high-speed operation and print quality.  It comes equipped with advanced interface software allowing self-learning during make readies and production (providing “smart feedback” to a data base).  Other unique features include, automatic plate changing (minimizes set-up time and waste), advanced spectral data collection and trend reporting, and a Sentinel ink management system. The Komori’s integrated control system will shorten make-ready times and assist in controlling color with tighter tolerances.

This machine will significantly increase our ability to print on a wide variety of substrates with conventional and H-UV printing inks and coatings. The advantage of its eco-friendly H-UV drying system will allow us to meet new customer challenges in print.  The desire for higher quality color, quick turn times and more value-added coatings made this the right time for us to add another 40” press to our equipment profile. We promise to continue growing stronger each and every day by providing new capabilities and offering greater value.
